What we see on MacBook Pro (Apple silicon) machines
- Storage is soldered and hardware-encrypted, so there is no drive to pull out if the Mac dies. Recovery means getting the original logic board running again.
- MagSafe and USB-C ports sit on small separate boards on these models, so a damaged charging port is often a modest repair instead of a logic board job.
- The display is replaced as a complete lid assembly, which also renews the hinges and camera.
