Toshiba Satellite C855 Repair
We repair the Toshiba Satellite C855 at our workshop in Bermondsey, from cracked screens and worn batteries to board faults and data recovery. The Toshiba Satellite C855 is a 2012 laptop with a 15.6-inch screen. Both the drive and, on most configurations, the memory can be upgraded, which makes it a good candidate for a refresh.

What we repair on the Toshiba Satellite C855
Screen replacement
A broken 15.6-inch screen is replaced with a panel of the same resolution and finish. We check the display cable while the lid is open.

Memory upgrade
Most configurations of the Toshiba Satellite C855 have SODIMM memory slots, so memory can be increased. We check what is fitted and the maximum the board supports.
Windows repair and reinstall
This model does not meet Microsoft's Windows 11 requirements, and Windows 10 reached end of support in October 2025. We can advise on the realistic options, including a lightweight Linux or ChromeOS Flex installation.
Battery replacement
Most configurations have a clip-in battery that can be swapped in seconds. We also test the charging circuit, because an old battery is not always the only fault. On a 2012 machine a worn battery is the likely cause of short runtime, and we measure its capacity before recommending anything else.

Charging port and power repair
A charger that only works at a certain angle means a worn charging socket. We replace it and test the charging circuit behind it.
SSD and storage upgrade
The Toshiba Satellite C855 uses a 2.5-inch SATA drive. Replacing a hard drive with an SSD is the biggest speed improvement available for a machine of this age.

We also carry out keyboard and trackpad repair, motherboard repair, liquid damage repair, overheating and fan repair, hinge and casing repair, virus removal on the Toshiba Satellite C855, along with USB, HDMI and audio port repair, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card replacement, webcam and speaker faults, BIOS password removal with proof of ownership and data transfer to a new machine.
Notes from the workshop
- An SSD and extra memory are simple upgrades on most models.
- Toshiba's laptop business became Dynabook; we cover both names.
- Satellite laptops are now old enough that failing hard drives and worn charging sockets are the usual faults.
Data recovery from the Toshiba Satellite C855
The Toshiba Satellite C855 has a 2.5-inch drive that we remove and image on our own equipment. If the drive is clicking or was dropped, stop powering it on: each attempt can do more damage.
Estimate the cost with our data recovery calculator, or read about recovering files after a ransomware attack.
Where the Toshiba Satellite C855 sits in the range
Its nearest relatives in the Toshiba Satellite and Satellite Pro range are the newer Toshiba Satellite C50-A (2013). It is the earliest 15.6-inch model of the range that we list.
Questions
Can the SSD or memory in the Toshiba Satellite C855 be upgraded?
The 2.5-inch drive can be replaced with an SSD. Memory is in slots on most configurations and can be increased.
My Toshiba Satellite C855 will not turn on. Is my data lost?
Usually not. The drive is separate from the fault in most cases, and we can remove it and copy your files even if the machine itself is not worth repairing.
How much does a Toshiba Satellite C855 screen replacement cost?
Price confirmed before work starts. The exact figure depends on the part your machine needs, and we confirm it before any work starts.
Is a 2012 Toshiba Satellite C855 still worth repairing?
It depends on the fault. A battery, SSD or charging socket is usually worth doing. A major board repair on an older machine may cost more than the machine is worth, and if that is the case we will say so.
