What we see on Dell Inspiron 16 and 17 machines
- Hinge mounts in the lid and base are a known weak point on Inspiron laptops. Caught early it is a hinge and bracket repair; left alone it can break the screen bezel and back cover.
- Many configurations shipped with a mechanical hard drive. Moving to an SSD is the most noticeable improvement for the money.
- The charging socket is a separate part on most models and can be replaced without touching the motherboard.
